Clients were interested in developing a small living space inside an existing church.
Subsequent discussion revealed a strong desire for this space to be able adapt to future uses with little renovation effort. The resolution of this design problem was to offer a modular, repeatable concept that woudl seamlessly allow for future expansion along with adaptation to various functions (based on future needs).
The first phase of the modular box floats inside of the main assembly area, consciously separating itself from the existing walls in order to adopt a more contemporary design style without compromising the historic beauty of the church. Future phases can be added as required by the client.
